Corporate Giving
Community Commitment
TOTE is dedicated to serving Alaska’s transportation needs and supporting those communities we serve. This dedication has fostered a special relationship with the Alaska railbelt and Seattle-Tacoma communities through participation in various charitable and non-profit organizations in the Anchorage, Fairbanks, Kenai, Seattle and Tacoma communities.
In both Anchorage and Fairbanks, TOTE has a community advisory board consisting of a team of long-time Alaskans and community leaders who volunteer their time and expertise to assist with TOTE’s corporate contributions program and impact the community’s awareness of TOTE’s philanthropic philosophy and business ethics.
Employee Involvement
TOTE donates thousands of dollars as well as in-kind contributions to qualifying non-profits in both Alaska and the Lower 48. TOTE’s Seattle and Tacoma employees actively participate in charitable events including the MS Walk, the Diabetes Walk, and the 3-day Walk for Life benefiting breast cancer research. In Alaska TOTE employees participate in the Seward Polar Bear Plunge to benefit the American Cancer Society, the United Way Day of Caring and the United Way Day of Caring food drive to benefit the Food Bank of Alaska. In addition, many of TOTE’s employees serve on various non-profit boards.
Corporate Donation Policy
TOTE supports qualified 501(c)(3) organizations which provide services in the following areas:
- Health
- Education
- Community service
- Youth activities
- Arts
- Special community projects
- Environment
Other considerations for a contribution are:
- How widespread the benefit
- How urgent the need
- Recognition of contribution
TOTE does not provide donations for the following groups unless the group requests a contribution on behalf of a qualified 501(c)(3); however, direct contributions are preferable to indirect gifts:
- Sporting events or teams
- Political organizations or events
- Labor organizations
- Fraternal or trade associations
- Religious organizations
- Individuals
How to Apply

TOTE prefers donations to be unrestricted funds for use in programs rather than sponsorships of events. Requests may be submitted at any time during the year.
Requests should include the following information:
- Organization’s name, federal tax ID number, contact person, address, phone number, email and web address.
- Primary purpose of organization
- Geographic area and individuals the organization serves
- Dollar level of request
