Totem Ocean Trailer Express, Inc.(TOTE), a privately-owned Alaska corporation, owns and operates cargo trailerships between the Ports of Tacoma, Washington and Anchorage, Alaska. Additionally, TOTE provides overland highway and intermodal connections throughout greater Alaska, the Lower 48, and Canada.

Only TOTE offers twice weekly service between the ports of Anchorage and Tacoma at an industry-leading transit time of 66-72 hours. We are committed to saving you time and money with features like our efficient roll-on/roll-off system, which expedites loading and unloading. Further, we are consistently improving our vessels, equipment, terminals and technology to exceed your expectations from end-to-end. In addition to our liner service TOTE offers direct trucking services in Alaska through our inland transportation division TOTE Trucking. We also offer and worldwide logistics capabilities through our logistics division Alta Logistics. Dedicated Terminals in Tacoma & Anchorage

TOTE provides dedicated terminals in both the ports of Tacoma, Washington and Anchorage, Alaska whose sole purpose is to receive and deliver our customers cargo. Both terminals have recently been upgraded and offer automated systems which have reduced our customer’s turn-times to less than 20 minutes, making them some of the fastest terminals on the West Coast.

In addition, each terminal has its own separate vehicle processing gates and personnel which significantly reduce the time it takes to deliver and pick-up vehicles. Vehicles are not held up at the gate waiting for trailers to be processed.

Serving our Community

TOTE dedicates a generous portion of the previous year’s operating profit to our annual giving budget in support of the local communities we serve. In addition, TOTE provides free shipping of goods and materials to several local non-profit organizations, including; the Food Bank of Alaska, the Salvation Army, Boy Scouts of America, Alaskans for Litter Prevention & Recycling and the Anchorage Museum of History and Art.
