Notice - Effective November 1, 2004, Alexander Ave will be closed to through traffic between the TOTE facility and Hwy 509. The only access into TOTE will be down 54th Ave. East/Taylor Way through Fife, or via Hwy 509 then down Taylor Way. This will be a permanent closure.
According to the Port of Tacoma, the closure will be no earlier than November 1st, but may be a little later. They said November 1st is their target date.
This will be the only access to the east side of the Blair Waterway, and the west side of the Hylebos Waterway, until the Hylebos Bridge is back in operation (East 11th St.) which is anticipated to be sometime in 2007.
