Totem Ocean Trailer Express, Inc. (TOTE) owns and operates unique diesel electric roll-on/roll-off trailer ships between the Ports of Tacoma, Washington and Anchorage, Alaska.

Founded in 1975 TOTE has been serving our customers and the people of Alaska for over three decades. Our Orca Class vessels, brought into service in 2003, were “Built For Alaska” and have several features and redundancies which were specifically designed solely to service the Alaska trade.

On-Time, Every Time

On Time, Every Time TOTE’s roll-on / roll-off vessels provide twice-weekly service between the ports of Tacoma, Washington and Anchorage, Alaska. These Orca Class ships were specifically designed to transport a wide variety of vehicles, boats, RV’s and heavy equipment in the extreme conditions faced in the Gulf of Alaska.
TOTE’s two sister ships, the M.V. Midnight Sun and M.V. North Star each have two dedicated water tight vehicle holds which keep your vehicles safe from the elements. Our quality process and standards are unmatched in the industry and we take extreme care with how we handle our customer’s vehicles to ensure the safest and most reliable service in the trade.
